Laughing is not bad; own up to it, Sarah! Your laughter brought out one of the best promises from God, and became the name for your baby. "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" Genesis 18:1-15; 21:1-7

God listens. God tips his ear to listen. God leans in to listen. And that's what invites me to call on his name. Psalm 116:1-2, 12-19

Christ died for the ungodly. This is the best news. If it said he died for all the good people of the earth, I would have no hope. Romans 5:1-8

When Jesus saw crowds harassed and helpless, he saw not fearful consequences but a plentiful harvest with few workers. His solution was that we should pray that God will send out workers. Pondering this today. Matthew 9:35-10:23

Thoughts about Listening

Laugh, live, love, learn, lead, listen. I've seen various combinations of these "L" words as slogans or even names of organizations. I really do think "listen" belongs among them. Genesis 18:1-15; 21:1-7

Good listening is a powerful invitation to talk. Psalm 116:1-2; 12-19

Anything I have given up to gain better listening has been well worth it. Romans 5:1-8

Listening is a healing act. The healing begins immediately when gift listening is received as a gift. Matthew 9:35-10:23
