He said they would be witnesses of Him, not so much witnesses of the times. Acts 1:6-14

There is a close connection, a call and response, between God and the things of nature. God walks among thunder and rain, among space stations and galaxies, and among viruses and DNA. Psalm 68:1-10, 32-35

In Matthew 16, Peter thought suffering was not acceptable for the Messiah. In his letters, Peter calls on Christians to accept suffering, knowing God cares, we have each other, and we have the Word. 1 Peter 4:12-14; 5:6-11

I believe Jesus continues to pray and work for those who believe in him, for our protection, that we may be one, as he and the Father are one. John 17:1-11

Thoughts about Listening

A witness tells only what he or she has experienced, in first person language. Speculation and hearsay are excluded. That's why I like to think of my self as a witness. Acts 1:6-14

We listen to the weather report and forecast. Do we listen as well to the poor around us? Psalm 68:1-10, 32-35

Can you take off your anxiety like a coat and hang it behind the door? It's easier to do if you have a good listener. 1 Peter 4:12-14; 5:6-11

It doesn't hurt to think about your succession plan, your legacy and who will carry it on, as well as your plans to make way for them. John 17:1-11
