So why does God have the right to choose someone and not choose another? It's because God knows totally the inner workings of each person. 1 Samuel 16:1-13

Isn't it interesting that what one does in the green pastures is to lie down, and what one does beside the still waters is to walk along? Psalm 23

Interesting that light, for Paul, is not so much for seeing the path as for outing the lies. Walk as children of the light. Ephesians 5:8-14

God used dust and breath on Friday to make a man; Jesus used dust and spit on Sabbath to make some eyes. John 9:1-41

Thoughts about Listening

In some instances I have made personnel or job choices that turned out not pleasant or helpful. Things aren't always as they appear. 1 Samuel 16:1-13

Listening is a gift that restores, refreshes, recharges the soul. Psalm 23

Listening is like light in the attic or basement, or storage room, making hidden things clear. Ephesians 5:8-14

I hope that, while my marketing isn't bringing me viral notice, I'm using the slow time still to improve my self and my product. John 9:1-41

Bible Reading Group Homework

1.    What is the longest you have ever had to wait for something big and good that you knew was coming your way? Discuss.

2.    Read or listen to 1 Samuel 16:1-13. Draw or dramatize this story in your group. Research to learn about how long David waited to gain the throne after being anointed king. (2 Samuel 5:4)

3.    Read or listen to Psalm 23. Draw, paint, or sculpt a scene from this psalm and then discuss its ambience and feelings. Pasture is usually a place where sheep eat; why are they lying down? Still water is usually a place where sheep drink; why are they walking beside it? Discuss as many reasons as you can.

4.    Read or listen to Ephesians 5:8-14. According to Paul here, what is the purpose of light? What is the source of this light?

5.    Read or listen to John 9:1-41. According to Jesus here, what was the reason for, or purpose of, this blindness? What did Jesus claim to be? Re-tell this story together, with your own expression in the dialogue parts. Now tell a back-story for this man. Give him a history of about 30 years, picturing what it must have been like to pray and not get healed, and yet wait. What do you think he and his family did during that long wait, and why?

**************
