1.    Did you ever burn something you were cooking so much that the pan or kettle was ruined? Tell your group about that event.

2.    Read or listen to Revelation 15:5-8. Find the opening of the temple in heaven (Revelation 11:19) and then find, list, and describe the angels that came out of the temple in Revelation chapters 14 and 15. Check Numbers 1:50 for this temple and its servers.

3.    Read or listen to Revelation 15:7. Scan the throne scene in Revelation 4 to discover the role of the four living creatures. Then compare Revelation 5:8 with 15:7. There were golden cups, bowls, basins, or vials: compare and discuss how many there were and what they were full of.

4.    Read or listen to Revelation 15:7. The first readers would have remembered the temple service utensils. Follow their history: Exodus 25:29; 27:3; 2 Kings 25:15; Daniel 1:2; 5:3. What reasons can you imagine for the mention and use of these here?

5.    Read or listen to Revelation 15:5-8. Compare the filling of the temple with the glory of God at these previous times: Exodus 40:34-35; 1 Kings 8:10-11; 2 Chronicles 5:13-14. With the linen clothing of the angels and the “no man may enter” exclusion, this scene would also remind the first readers of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, of Leviticus 16 (especially verses 4 and 17). Can you tell where is Jesus?

Finale: What means the most to you out of today’s reading of Revelation 15:5-8? What will you do about it now?

**********
