1.    Tell and listen to others tell of a time you got news that took your breath away or caused you nearly to faint. Then what?

2.    Read or listen to Daniel 10:1-21. This chapter is in three portions as were 7 and 8: a vision, an explanation, and a second-time explanation. Together in your group find logical divisions and create headings in this chapter.

3.    Read or listen to Daniel 10:1-21. Did you notice that there are at least two separate heavenly beings mentioned in this chapter, the one who spoke to Daniel in first person and the one called Michael. “Michael” means “who is like God” and there is no one like God except God (Exodus 15:9-11; Psalm 35:10; Isaiah 44:6-7). The one like a man here could be taken as Gabriel (“strong”) from the previous chapters. Many believe then that Michael was the One Daniel saw in vision in vv. 5-9.

4.    Read or listen to Daniel 10:1-21, especially vv. 12-13. Discuss the difference between the idea that there is no need for long prayers because God is already at work since our first ask, and the idea that perhaps Daniel’s prayers helped in some way known only to those in the deep know about the cosmic war.

5.    Read or listen to Daniel 10:1-21. If there is a cosmic war, who of the supernatural beings would be on what sides? What do you make of vv. 1-3 for drastic measures to show which side a person is on in this cosmic war? What was Daniel mourning?

Finale: What means the most to you out of today’s reading of Daniel 10:1-21? What will you do about it now?

2.    Leer o escuchar Daniel 10: 1-21.
