1. Discuss with your group: How important are grades to you?
2. Read or listen to Daniel 1:17-21. Compare Daniel 12:3-4, 8, 10 and Revelation 13:8. Discuss: How important do you think understanding is in the two books?
3. Read or listen to Daniel 1:17-21. Compare Psalm 119:97-104 and Proverbs 4:7. Though we don’t know the date of the Psalms or the Proverbs, what might one deduce from the prevalence in Israel of prayers to God for understanding?
4. Read or listen to Daniel 1:17-21. Compare Joel 2:27-19 and Acts 2:15-18. Young men and women seeing visions and dreaming dreams was associated with the day of the Lord, the coming of the Messiah. How might visions and dreams prepare the world for the Messiah?
5. Read or listen to Daniel 1:17-21. Read also Daniel 9:25-26 and realize that Daniel was a prophet of the Messiah. Talk and listen to each other about some of the benefits for you that Jesus’ being the Messiah offers you and your family.
