1. What is your most favorite part of a rain storm? Tell and listen as others tell in your group.
2. Read or listen to Joel 2:23-32. Research online to learn what you can about the setting of this prophetic book. Scan the book of Joel to discuss whether you think its message is a happy one. To what event in nature is the coming of Holy Spirit likened and why? Who receives benefit?
3. Read or listen to Psalm 65. Carefully compare the images and message here with that in Joel 2:23-32. What are similarities and differences?
4. Read or listen to 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18. Scan the letter from Paul to discuss the troubles Paul had and who did or did not stand by him.
5. Read or listen to Luke 18:9-14. Re-tell, draw, or dramatize this parable of the two worshipers. Read aloud, with inflection and emotion, the prayer of each man. Name some of the feelings you think each was having. How easy or difficult is it for you to admit your need and ask for something you want deeply?
