God is coming with all his glory, and all people will see it together. This is the message that Isaiah says will comfort the people. Isaiah 40:1-11
God will speak peace to God's people. Let them not turn away in folly, and let them not turn back to folly. Our best hope for peace is in God alone. Psalm 85:1-2, 8-13
God's coming is not delayed, but God is waiting patiently for more people to be saved and for our characters to grow. 2 Peter 3:8-15
John the Baptist stayed remarkably humble even though his revival preaching was wildly successful. Mark 1:1-8
Thoughts about Listening
God can! I can't! And I decide to let go and let God! Isaiah 40:1-11
Peace requires a listening kind of communication. Psalm 85:1-2, 8-13
Listening sometimes requires patience to wait for the other person to figure out what he or she wants to say. 2 Peter 3:8-15
Giving listening as a gift does require some humility, a humility that can let go for a minute one's own demand to be heard. Mark 1:1-8
