In the midst of devastating reprimand and consequences, there is always a kernel of promise by the grace of God and through the Holy Spirit. Joel 2:23-32

The pastures, hills, meadows, and valleys all "shout and sing together for joy" as God crowns the year with bounty. Psalm 65

Paul had confidence that he was finishing well. I wonder what I could start doing now to help my confidence when my finishing time comes. 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18

Looks like two things go together. Trusting in my confidence that I am good and righteous goes with despising others and looking on them with contempt. Luke 18:9-14

Thoughts about Listening

In all troubles, look for the silver lining. Joel 1:23-32

Look for the bounty around you, in earth and nature if not in personal wishes. Noticing the bounty can help lift your mindset. Palm 65

Though people may fail you, always be generous and compassionate. 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18

If my confidence rests in thinking I got to the good life by my own effort and decisions, then it's easy for me to look down on those I think don't have as good a life. Luke 18:9-14
