1.    Where were the light switched in your home growing up? How old were you when you were allowed to turn them on and off?

2.    Read or listen to Revelation 21:22-27. First, notice the things specifically stated as not present here. And tell what the Scripture gives as the reason for their absence.

3.    Read or listen to Revelation 21:22-27. Who or what is the source of light for this city? Who walks in that light? Who brings their praises into it?

4.    Read or listen again to Revelation 21:25. Compare Matthew 16:18. Imagine in pictures a war between the gates of this city and the gates of hell. Which are shut and which are open? Which are aggressive? Which is more inviting? Compare Revelation 22:14 to discover and discuss who has the right to go into the gates of this city.

5.    Read or listen again to Revelation 21:27. It is not the right of human judgment to decide which is dirty, detestable, or deceitful and thereby excluded from this city. It is the Lamb’s book of life that determines who goes in. How do you think a person’s name gets into the Lamb’s book of life (John 3:16)? How might a person’s name get taken out of the book of life (Revelation 3:5; Exodus 32:31-33)? How seriously do you think God takes the books (Revelation 20:12; Daniel 7:10)?

Finale: What means the most to you out of today’s reading of Revelation 21:22-27? What will you do about it now?

**************
