To avoid SAD communication (producing Stress, Anger, and Defensiveness), use I, Aye, and Eye (first person, affirming, and connecting with eye contact). These communication skills will increase effective listening in America's teams and families.
If the counterpart of a lover is called the "beloved," then could the counterpart of a listener be called the "belistened"? It sounds like a happy word to me, almost glistening, and easier in speech than saying "the person being listened to." I am belistened.
