1.    Who in your group is most likely to read, or most likely to avoid reading, a blow by blow record of long historical battles?

2.    Read or listen to Daniel 11:1-45. Chapter 11 runs on from chapter 10, because Daniel kept fainting away. They finally got him stabilized and started giving in plain speech what would come next in the world, yet the plain speech is still rather cryptic. In v. 2, Persia is named along with the fact that the next one is Greece. Next look for “do according to his will” to help decipher the next logical divisions (vv. 3, 13, 36). Then there is the “time of the end” (v. 40) after which Michael stands up for his people (Daniel 12:1). Can you match these to any others of the lists we have had of world empires?

3.    Read or listen to Daniel 11:1-45. Another way to look at the outline is to notice that after v. 4, the King of the North and the King of the South are always attacking one another. This would include whomever ruled in those positions around the Mediterranean Sea, with Israel in the crossfire sometimes. Research and share who these countries/empires were through the centuries.

4.    Read or listen to Daniel 11:32-35. The record seems here to turn toward a spiritual war. How do these verses help or hinder your faith in the midst of war?

5.    Read or listen to Daniel 11:1-45. Compare Matthew 24:1-51. In  both these cases the inquirers found themselves distraught over time while looking at or thinking of the temple. In both cases the answerer gave a mixture of soon and later events, with no effort to distinguish between the sooner or later. In Matthew 24 the lesson is “Watch and stay ready.” Are you staying ready?

Finale: What means the most to you out of today’s reading of Daniel 11:1-45? What will you do about it now?

1.    ¿Quién en su grupo es más dado a leer o a evitar leer, paso a paso un registro  de las largas batallas históricas?

2.    Leer o escuchar Daniel 11: 1-45. El capítulo 11 se extiende desde el capítulo 10, porque Daniel seguía desmayándose. Finalmente, lo estabilizaron y comenzaron a dar un discurso claro de lo que vendría después en el mundo, sin embargo, el discurso simple sigue siendo bastante oculto. En el v. 2, Persia es nombrada junto con el hecho de que la siguiente será Grecia. Luego busque "hacer un acuerdo con su voluntad" para ayudar a descifrar las siguientes divisiones lógicas (vv. 3, 13, 36). Luego está el "tiempo del final” (v. 40) después de lo cual Miguel se pone de pie por su pueblo (Daniel 12: 1). ¿Puede relacionar estos con otros de las listas que hemos tenido de los imperios mundiales?

3.    Leer o escuchar Daniel 11: 1-45. Otra forma de ver el esquema es notar que después del v. 4, el Rey del Norte y el Rey del Sur siempre se atacan entre sí. Esto incluiría a quien gobernara en esas posiciones alrededor del Mar Mediterráneo, aveces  con Israel en el fuego cruzado. Investigue y comparta quiénes fueron estos países / imperios a través de los siglos.

4.    Leer o escuchar Daniel 11: 32-35. El registro  parece volverse hacia una guerra espiritual. ¿Cómo es que estos versos ayudan o entorpecen su fe en medio de la guerra?

5.    Leer o escuchar Daniel 11: 1-45. Compare Mateo 24: 1-51. En ambos casos, los investigadores se encontraron perturbados con el tiempo mientras miraban o pensaban en el templo. En ambos casos, el fiador dio una mezcla de eventos futuros y posteriores, sin ningún esfuerzo por distinguir entre li anterior o lo posterior. En Mateo 24, la lección es "Mira y mantente listo". ¿Se mantiene listo?
