1.    What have you heard about a jubilee? Talk and listen to each other about stories of jubilee.

2.    Read or listen to Daniel 9:20-27. Compare Daniel 9:2 with 2 Chronicles 36:21; Genesis 2:1-3; and Leviticus 25:1-8,  to learn the significance of seven and seventy. Israel had not given the land its Sabbath years, and were made to do so in one long stretch by being exiled to Babylon, seventy years, each year for a set of seven in history.

3.    Read or listen to Daniel 9:20-27. The Jubilee (Leviticus 25:9-34) was to come every fiftieth year and be a more drastic Sabbath for everyone, a setting free and forgiving of debt. We have no evidence that Israel ever kept the Jubilee. Some believe the emphasis here on sevens would indicate this will be a Jubilee Messiah (Isaiah 61:1-2; Luke 4:16-19).

4.    Read or listen to Daniel 9:20-27. Notice the strange wording of all the numbers, something like Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address. Think, name, and discuss some reasons for such lengthening.

5.    Read or listen to Daniel 9:20-27. The seventy years was cut off from the 2300 days. It takes some math, but in the early 1800s, lots of people were doing the math. There was an well-documented worldwide movement toward preaching the second coming of Jesus because of these prophecies. Discuss together whether you feel joy or something else when you think of Jesus’ return.

2.    Leer o escuchar Daniel 9: 20-27. Compare Daniel 9: 2 con 2 Crónicas 36:21; Génesis 2: 1-3; y Levítico 25: 1-8, para aprender el significado de siete y setenta. Israel no le había dado a la tierra sus años sabáticos, y fueron obligados a hacerlo  por un periodo largo siendo exiliado a Babilonia, setenta años, cada año por un conjunto de siete según la historia.

3.    Leer o escuchar Daniel 9: 20-27. El Jubileo (Levítico 25: 9-34) debía venir cada quincuagésimo año y ser un Sabbath más drástico para todos, un arreglo libre e indulgente con las deudas. No tenemos evidencia de que Israel haya guardado el Jubileo. Algunos creen que el énfasis en el siete indicaría que este será un Jubileo de, Mesías (Isaías 61: 1-2, Lucas 4: 16-19).

4.    Leer o escuchar Daniel 9: 20-27. Observe la extraña redacción de todos los números, algo así como el discurso de Gettysburg de Lincoln. Piense, nombre y analice algunas razones para tal alargamiento.
