1.    Do you know where in the Bible the rapture is found? Talk about it with someone who will listen.

2.    Read or listen to Daniel 9:20-27. Get your bearings. Daniel wanted Jerusalem fixed. Read Daniel 8:14,26-27 and 9:2, to get the train of Daniel’s thought. It would be 2300 days, but way in the future, so 2300 years (Numbers 14:34). Too long! So he studied the scrolls (2 Chronicles 36:21) and learned it should be only 70 years! It had been 68 years. Daniel fasted and prayed for God to do something, according to God’s promise.

3.    Read or listen to Daniel 9:20-27. Who came to help Daniel understand? When had he seen this person before? He will answer Daniel’s anxiety, but not so fast. From the 2300 days, 70 weeks will be cut off until the Messiah. From the 70 weeks, the first seven are cut off for the finishing of Jerusalem’s wall. The next 62 weeks go up to the beginning of the Messiah, and the last week finishes the Messiah’s work. Beginning date set in v. 25. Hope for Jerusalem and hope for the world (Galatians 4:4; Luke 3:1, 21-22; 4:16-19).

4.    Read or listen to Daniel 9:20-27. What evidence is here that God keeps promises?

5.    Read or listen to Daniel 9:20-27. There is no evidence here of a gap of many years before the last week. There is no evidence here of a rapture of the church. May we learn to trust God’s promises, and Jesus’ second coming as well as his first coming.

Finale: What means the most to you out of today’s reading of Daniel 9:20-27? What will you do about it now?

**************
