They got tired of the manna! Bored with their best good. A plague of snakebite was certainly a novel thing for them. The cure for it was the old thing--trust in God, look to God and live. Numbers 21:4-9

The kind of offering and sacrifice to bring to God is the sacrifice of thanksgiving, telling of God's works with songs of joy. Psalm 107:1-3, 17-22

When we were dead, God made us alive together in Christ, created in Christ for good works, which God has prepared, all for the glory of God, nothing for human boasting. My joy is not in my works but in God's love for me. Ephesians 2:1-10

I love how the Old Testament is so rife with stories that Jesus could make a quick reference to an image and the whole story would come flooding back to flesh out the point he was making. As Moses lifted up the serpent, . . . Look and live. John 3:14-21

Thoughts about Listening

A look can convey so many different things: trust, attention, respect, collaboration, surprise, conniving, entrapment, disdain, condescension, anger, cancelling. Numbers 21:4-9

Thanks is a powerful way to use the voice. Psalm 107:1-3, 17-22

There really is no need for arrogance or boasting, if love and listening hold high value. Ephesians 2:1-10

You can choose to walk away from people in your life who are judgy and condemning. You can choose not to be that way yourself. John 3:14-21
