I think the sending away of Hagar and her son is a sad, sad story, the first glimmer of hope being God's speaking to her, "Do not be afraid; for God has heard the voice of the boy." Genesis 21:8-21

The psalmist's stated claim on God's ear is that he is poor and needy. My best claim on God's grace is to admit my spiritual need and lack of resources. Psalm 86:1-10, 16-17

Since receiving evidence of being heard is so important, think how blessed is receiving evidence of being heard by God. Psalm 86:1-10, 16-17

For the person contemplating suicide because of poor performance toward their own ideal, Romans 6:1-11 seems a shining gift. You can die with Jesus in baptism. You can reckon yourself dead! And then alive with Jesus.

Seems to me Jesus said God will get the message out; my job is to not be cowardly about telling my own testimony about Jesus. Mathew 10:24-39

Thoughts about Listening

Rejection from one thing can lead to a door opening for a bigger thing. Genesis 21:8-21

Finding a listener is easier if I'm neither arrogant nor denying my need to be heard. Psalm 86:1-10, 16-17
