1.    Tell when you first discovered the fun of cross referencing in your Bible. Share various ways of keeping these notes. Discuss how the first hearers would have had those Bible memories deep in their personalities and what that might mean for interpretation.

3.    Read or listen to Revelation 14:8. Read also the story in Genesis 11:1-9. Draw or dramatize this story of the origins of the name Babylon. What are the principles about God and humans that are available to us in this reading?

4.    Read or listen to Revelation 14:8. Read also and compare Isaiah 14:3-15. Who is speaking this proverb against Babylon and why? Discuss the characteristics of Babylon noted here. Compare Isaiah 21:6-9.

5.    Read or listen to Revelation 14:8. Compare Daniel 4. Discuss what the king of Babylon did and said that got him in trouble with God. Bonus: Preview Revelation 17 and 18 looking for hints about the character and other aspects of this Babylon. Compare also Revelation 16:13, 19.
