1.    Name and describe in your group some emotions you have felt on hearing a knock at your door or a ringing of the doorbell.

2.    Read or listen to Revelation 16:17-21, the seventh plague. First please review all of the seventh increments so far in Revelation (Revelation 11:15-19; 8:1; 3:14-22). Tell where you find Jesus in these vignettes, and how you feel about Him here.

3.    Read or listen to Revelation 16:17-21. In the sixth increments, Jesus says, “I come quickly” (Revelation 16:15; 3:11); now in the seventh increment comes the pronouncement “It is done” (Revelation 16:17). Compare Jesus’ proclamation from the cross, “It is finished” (John 19:30). What do you think is finished or done in each of these statements?

4.    Read or listen to Revelation 16:17-21. Verse 19 is the last mention of the beasts until Revelation 19:19-20, where they are conquered and destroyed during the Battle or Armageddon. Comparing Revelation 16:11 and 19 with Revelation 19:19-20, what do you learn about the three parts of Babylon?

5.    Read or listen to Revelation 16:17-21. Study Revelation 16:5-6 and 17:6 to discover how it might be fair for God to release these pains on the earth. Read Revelation 16:11 and 21 to see how some people react to the “wrath” of God. Read Exodus 34:6-7; Micah 6:8; and Romans 12:19 and discuss possible interactions between justice and mercy in God, and what is expected of humans.

Finale: What means the most to you out of today’s reading of Revelation 16:17-21? What will you do about it now?
