"Ain't gonna study war no more." Isaiah 2:1-5

Compare Isaiah 2:1-5 and Psalm 122, both about the joy of worshiping our God in Jerusalem. I'm grateful to be included in the legacy.

When is time nearly up? Five minutes to midnight? High noon? When day is far spent? For Paul it's when night is far spent. Romans 13:11-14

It takes only a microsecond's prayer to "get" ready. It takes a lifestyle of those prayers to "be" ready. Jesus said, "Be" ready. Matthew 24:36-44

Thoughts about Listening

Let there be a study of communication that rises above the study of "Gotcha." Isaiah 2:1-5

When someone tells you a good thing and invites you to a good event, be sure to thank that person and wish him or her peace. Psalm 122

Listening well aims for authentic and decent communication, not to stir fight or envy. Romans 13:11-14

Stay aware and listening. Matthew 24:36-44

2.    Read or listen to Isaiah 2:1-5. What will flow into Jerusalem, and what will come out of it? How could a person read this passage while in determination not to “learn war any more”?

3.    Read or listen to Psalm 122. Discover the similarities between this and Isaiah 2:1-5. What might a person do differently in order to sincerely “pray for the peace of Jerusalem”?

4.    Read or listen to Romans 13:11-14. When is the best time to wake up, walk honestly, and work for Jesus? Find three phrases by which Paul described the what time it is. List the things he calls on the church to do because of the time.

5.    Read or listen to Matthew 24:36-44. Count and discuss all the mentions of words having to do with time in this passage. Have you ever felt like God is a troll, just hanging around, planning a big “Gotcha”? Discuss why or why not this picture fits God. Discover two things to do “therefore,” because no one knows the hour when Jesus will come.

5. Leer o escuchar Mateo 24:36-44. Contar y discutir todas  las menciones que tienen que ver con la palabra tiempo en este pasaje. ¿Alguna vez ha sentido como si Dios fuera un acosador, simplemente andando por ahí, planeando una gran "atrapada"?
