If I should ever experience a theophany, see some manifestation of God, I hope no one records what I say. It will likely be something inane! Like Peter in Mark 9:2-9. Like Elisha in 2 Kings 2:1-12.

God calls to the heavens and earth to declare, so that humans can know this God is our God. Psalm 50:1-10

It is the same God who caused light out of darkness in Creation who has shined in our hearts with the "light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus." I didn't make myself good enough. 2 Corinthians 4:3-6

Jesus' clothes shone with white light. Reminds me of the skin of Moses's face that shone when he came down from the mount of talking with God (Exodus 34:29-35). I think there must have been light from within that shone out, catching the clothes and skin in its trajectory. Mark 9:2-9

Thoughts about Listening

Listening well sometimes requires following along wherever the speaker needs to go. 2 Kings 2:1-12

Listen to the sky. Listen to the soil. George Washington Carver would say, Listen to the peanut. Psalm 50:1-10

We each have the power of choice of whom to listen to and hear. There is truth and kindness somewhere. 2 Corinthians 4:3-6

What would be the best way to prove that you're listening to a person? Seat him or her in a special chair? Build an exhibition booth for her or him? Call in the press? Mark 9:2-10
