Satan said, "You won't die." Satan insinuated, "God is lying." Satan further reasoned, "God is withholding something that is your right and your need." Genesis 2:15-17; 3:1-7

Keeping a stance of confession, repentance, and surrender to God saves a lot of energy otherwise spent in trying to avoid admitting. Psalm 32

We are insufficient, but king’s daughters and sons. We are confessing, admitting, repenting, but not ashamed,–because of the gospel of Christ. Romans 1:16-17; 3:9, 21-31

God never asks me to prove who I am,--or who God is, either. It is only the evil one who puts out the dare. In God's eyes, my identity is settled and secure. Matthew 4:1-11
