December 1, 2019, Lectionary

From the beginning it was part of the plan that all people of earth who come to them will be blessed through Abraham's descendants, Jews, and Jerusalem. Isaiah 2:1-5

The house of the Lord to which I am glad to go could metaphorically mean the fellowship of believers whenever, wherever they meet. Psalm 122

There are just three weeks in December before we get longer daylight. This is a powerful metaphor, enacted each year, to show the energizing power of life in Christ. Romans 13:11-14

In one of Jesus' conversations about being ready, he used at least six references to time (day, hour, watch of the night) to indicate what we don't know. Our puny time calculation is nothing compared to eternal reckoning! Matthew 24:36-44
