Since Paul claims that those who are Christ's are heirs of the promise (Galatians 3:29), I claim the promise that God will give me a new heart. Surely the days come, says the Lord. Jeremiah 31:27-34

God's law in my heart gives me more understanding than my enemies, my teachers, and all the wisdom of past ages, understanding to distinguish true from false. Psalm 119:97-104

Because I learned my faith from my grandmother and my mother and because I find such joy in the Scriptures, I have always been a Timothy. That's why I have to preach the word and do the work of an evangelist. 2 Timothy 3:14-4:5

When it seems like God is paying me no attention, even for years at a time, I am to keep praying. Maybe it's not the only thing, but it is THE most effective thing, I can do. Luke 18:1-8

Thoughts about Listening

There is a difference between just going through the motions and really putting your shoulder to the wheel, putting your heart into the work. Jeremiah 31:27-34

A great need today is for people who will study to gain wisdom and understanding to distinguish true from false. Psalm 119:97-104

It requires study to make oneself able to discern truth. Good not to cultivate a lazy mind. 2 Timothy 3:14-4:5

Simple repeated repetition of the request, without raise in voice or change in tone, is one of the most effective tools for getting heard. Luke 18:1-8
