I do believe God thought of each one of us before we were born, and has a plan for who we are in God. This thought gives my life meaning and joy. Jeremiah 1:4-10

Read the whole Psalm 71. The first part is a call on God for rescue, citing one's trust in God since birth. The following part leads the reader into God's help in old age. Psalm 71:1-8

Fear is okay if it is a respect for the decisions and power of God, much more powerful and demonstrative now than in the days of Moses when the people feared God. Hebrews 12:18-29

I wonder if the parable of the fig tree to be preserved and cared for one more year was told by Jesus about one year before his death. In this telling the parable has no ending. Luke 13:1-17

Thoughts about Listening

I know I am called and appointed to be a listener as well as a talker. I can do this while maintaining my boundaries and beliefs. Jeremiah 1:4-10

I was young and now am old. There was no time when I didn't need someone to listen to me. Psalm 71:1-8

As a parent or teacher, is there any time when you have tried to instill a "proper" fear into your child? Hebrews 12:18-29

Before giving up on a relationship, please try listening better, without making yourself better than, and with checking your own attitudes. Give it an honest try. Luke 13:1-17
