Elijah traveled, and three times (at Gilgal, Bethel, and Jericho) invited his assistant to stop off along the way, but Elisha was determined to go the full distance. 2 Kings 2:1-14

The people's song adds rain and lightning and thunder to the wind and fleeing water in the story of the crossing of the sea. Sounds like they enjoyed imagining the ancient stories. Psalm 77:1-2, 11-20

Love includes calmness, gentleness, humility, not looking for accolades, not teasing, trolling, tricking, or trash-talking one another, not flaunting one's stuff or envying one another. Galatians 5:1, 13-26

Jesus determined to go to Jerusalem. Check out the things that came up to distract him or others who might follow him. Keep focused. Luke 9:51-62

Thoughts about Listening

I need to consider well for which things in my life I have chosen and determined to go the full way no matter what distractions happen. 2 Kings 2:1-14

How do you listen when you know the other person is exaggerating? Can you enter into the joy and expansion of people of using their imaginations together? Psalm 77:1-2, 11-20

Please stop and think before entering into any society where teasing, trolling, tricking, or trash-talking one another is the popular mode of interacting. Galatians 5:1, 13-26

When you know and decide what to do, don't let rejection or superiority, stuff or security, or expectations from family or society, keep you from doing that. Luke 9:51-62
