Twelve men took twelve big stones from the middle of the trouble/deliverance to set up on the other side to remember. Joshua 3:7-17; 4:4-8

There are some psalms almost totally given to remembering how the Lord led them in the past: Psalm 78, 105, 106, 107.

Paul reminded the Thessalonians of the beginnings of their church: You remember, you are witnesses, you know. . . 1 Thessalonians 2:9-13

I suppose rituals of remembrance could be used as tools of power. Jesus said not to be using power over one another. Matthew 23:1-12

Thoughts about Listening

The choice of heritage (events to be remembered) and mnemonics (the means for remembering) is important for the next generation. Joshua 3:7-17; 4:4-8

Founding events need to be remembered. Psalm 107:1-7, 33-37

Remember the mentors who shaped you for good. 1 Thessalonians 2:9-13

Servant leadership. Not: "You're my servants; I'm your leader." But rather: "I'm your servant; let's do this together." Matthew 23:1-12
