Daniel 2:1-49

1.    Tell in your group of a dream you have had that you thought meant something.

2.    Read or listen to Daniel 2. First let’s focus on the story surrounding the dream. Can you discover the timing of this story in comparison to the story of chapter 1 of Daniel? What problem was in the King’s chambers? How did Daniel and his friends learn of the problem (verse 13)?

3.    Read or listen to Daniel 2:13-25. List in order the steps Daniel took in the face of this emergency. Ponder and discuss the contents of Daniel’s two prayers, the petition and the praise.

4.    Read or listen to Daniel 2:31-45. Now let’s focus on the dream and its meaning. Make seven sections going down your page. Label them 1) gold, 2) silver, 3) brass, 4) iron, 5) iron and clay, 6) mixed and mingled but not united, 7) God’s kingdom. Then note everything you can find pertaining to each section.

5.    Read or listen to Daniel 2:26-30 and 46-49. Remember Daniel 1:17 where it was noted that Daniel had special understanding. From where did Daniel affirm this special understanding came? Compare Daniel 2:28 with Revelation 1:19 to discover the theme of both books. What does this mean to you?
